You turn on the television and all you find are reruns. There are no new movies playing at your local theater, and you've read every magazine in the house. You've played and beaten every video game in your collection. You're looking for entertainment - something to pass the time - but don't know where to turn. It may just be time to power up the computer and cruise the Internet.



Believe it or not, some of the best things in life are free. This is especially true in the realm of entertainment. If you look long and hard enough, you will find free online games that are better and more entertaining than those for which you spend a lot of money. If you play your cards right, you can literally take advantage of thousands of dollars of games for free.



Unlike those games that you pay money for, free online games give you the opportunity to play with other people who share your passions and interests. This alone makes it worthwhile to search out the numerous sites offering free games, in order to find those that offer exceptional games with high playability. There are many free game sites that are very good and valuable.



There are some skeptics who would warn against playing free online games. They might say that nothing in life is free, and that in exchange for the opportunity to play free games, you run the risk of being bombarded with pop-ups and other commercial come-ons. They also say that they don't want to comply when some free online games sites solicit personal information, and they worry about the possibility of worms and other spyware that they unwittingly allow onto their hard drives.



Many of these same skeptics, however, not only have become believers in free online games, but they spend countless hours and countless days and nights playing games for free. They have found their passion and have found other people online and have formed friendships with those who share their passion for online gaming.



The beauty of free online games is that they are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year. While some require a download, many are browser-based, needing only Flash enabled in order to enjoy the game's graphics. There are also free online games for every member of the family, from the free games tied into children's television shows to the sophisticated, interactive games that appeal to adults.
